Waltham Forward Neighborhood Walk-a-thon

  • Meet by the foot bridge in the Shaw’s Parking Lot River Street Waltham, MA 02453 (map)

Returning to the Bleachery

Waltham’s next regular municipal Election Day is Tuesday, November 2nd, 2027, so from March 2026 to October 2027 I plan to walk to-and-thru every neighborhood in Waltham at least once as part of a 20 month Waltham Forward Neighborhood Walk-a-thon. A key part of this walk-a-thon is that it will be in person, in real life, and (mostly) offline!

The General Route of the Walk

For this second event, I am going to return to the Bleachery (the neighborhood on the east side of town, north of the river but south of Main Street.

We will start in the Shaw’s parking lot (the end by the foot bridge over the Charles) between 10:45-11:00am before making our way toward Lowell Field Park (zig-zagging along the neighborhood streets south of the park).

The Purpose of the Walk

As we walk, we will document potential infrastructure improvements, obvious accessibility issues, and likely safety concerns that ought to be addressed by the city.

We will also share a petition about the city website’s lack of ADA compliance, and — more importantly — we will be on a listening tour to get to know our neighbors better.
